A Closer Look: Supergirl – “Medusa” (Mid Season Finale & Crossover Primer)

It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Ever since we first saw Supergirl and The Flash crossover last season in “World’s Finest”, we’ve been dreaming of a massive crossover between Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow & Legends Of Tomorrow. And this week gave it to us…. sort of. Whereas the marketing for this week’s episode…

A Closer Look: Supergirl – “The Darkest Place”

Whereas Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow took relatively subdued pre-Thanksgiving episodes before the upcoming Heroes vs Aliens Crossover, Supergirl set the stakes even higher and dealt with 3 overwhelmingly powerful storylines. This week was all about fitting in and…

A Closer Look: Supergirl – “Falling”

One thing that Supergirl as a series has been able to do is pair incredibly powerful stories/lessons while also invoking an impressive understanding and respect for Superman history – especially Superman: The Animated Series. Now whether this is a deliberate attempt or just the end result of two series following the spirit of the comics is besides the point. Either way, Supergirl has become something that fans new and old can get behind and fall in love with. So it’s only right that this week’s episode tackled one of the most troubling and heart wrenching Superman storylines/themes – what happens when they go bad?
